Photograph taken at Salon Prive
The photograph above was taken at Salon Prive in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, home of the Chelsea Pensioners and the Chelsea Flower Show. I have a large number of photographs that were taken at the show and these will be posted to my Instagram page. I also have several hours of video from the event which will be split into short clips and posted on the YouTube channel. Links to both are at the bottom of the page.
News.
Headlight Glare being investigated
We have all been on the receiving end of the blinding full beam coming over the brow of a hill, and fewer drivers seem to be inclined to dip their lights for oncoming traffic. The glare from modern LED lights is becoming even more of an issue. The Department for Transport has announced an investigation into drivers being dazzled by headlight glare from oncoming vehicles. A petition calling for the government to ‘review the brightness of car headlights for safety’ has gathered over 11,000 signatures, prompting the investigation.

Yamaha R1-powered mini
This mini looks great and with the R1 motor pumping out 175hp it sounds phenomenal. Would you drive it or is it a bit too crazy?
Bikes.
Janus Motorcycles - New motorcycles retro bikes
They make slow bikes that are fun to ride, perfect lightweight city rides?
Love them or hate them they are making what they like.
Clothing and accessories.
Dirty Monkey Kustoms
They have a great site with a range of T-shirt designs, below is one of my favourites and not a bad price at £20.
Looking for something a bit different ? The classic work shirts are cool.
Art
If you have watched the American TV show Overhaulin you will have seen the car designer Chip Foose. The programme demonstrates what a talented artist he is and his website has many of his artworks for sale. Below is a link to one of my favourites, most of the work available is reasonably priced as well.
I’m watching
Magnus Walkers short film Urban Outlaw, is a great insight into this Porsche collector and his lifestyle. I’m also reading his book which is a great read especially if you were born in the late 60s or early 70s, the first few chapters will be a trip down memory lane. You can find the book here
EDC.
Xtremeauto LED Inspection Lamp Car Torch - Magnetic Base, Rechargeable
Ideal for working on vehicles, camping, or photography and at £14 a bargain.
The brightness is adjustable via the dial, the magnetic base swivels 360 degress and it also has a handy hanging hook.
I have been using one of these in my van as well as for added light when taking night photos.
